Christine Denny

Christine is excited for another season as Block Party Volleyball Club Director!

Christine has experience across all aspects of Block Party. She began playing club as an 10-year-old with Block Party. In 2003, Christine began coaching with the club. She has previously coached the Girls 12's, 13's and 14's teams in her 8 total years of club coaching experience. In 2007, Christine took a director's position with the club, and in 2008 took over in full as club director.

Christine is also the JV Boys' Volleyball coach for Catholic Memorial High School, where she has coached since 2007. At her time with the program, Christine has led the Crusaders to two Classic 8 JV Regular Season championships, and two Classic 8 JV Tournament championships.

Jane Abshire

Jane brings many years of playing/coaching experience to our volleyball club. This will be Jane's 7th year with Block Party, coaching previously at the Girls' 12's, 13's and 14's age levels. Prior to coaching with Block Party, Jane coached at St. Bernards Grade School. Jane also has been an active competitor in adult volleyball leagues with her fellow Lynch family members, and for many years she has participated in USAV Adult National Championships.

For the past six years, Jane has also been the freshman boys' volleyball coach at Catholic Memorial High School.

RJ Gruichich

This will be RJ's second year coaching with Block Party. Previously, RJ coached in Block Party boys' program with the 15's team. This will be his first year with our girls' program. RJ has previously coached youth girls' middle school teams. He also is active in adult volleyball leagues, and reffing adult club, and youth club matches.

RJ played varsity volleyball at Hale High School.

Katie Handel

This will be Katie's second year with Block Party.  Last year, Katie coached the Girls' 12-2's.  She has also been an instructor in our summer youth development program, working Block Party camps across various age levels.

Prior to coming to Block Party, Katie has had experience coaching middle school volleyball in the Lake Geneva school district.  She also has reffed/coached in the Burlington school district.

Calley Kohlhagen

Calley will be coaching the 14's age level along with her sister, Christy. This is Calley's second year with the club, and her second year at the 14's age level. Last year, Calley coached our Girls' 14-2's team. This past summer, she worked in our summer camp program where she worked with girls across many age levels.

Calley was a successful, three-year varsity player for Sheboygan Falls High School. Calley also played varsity soccer in high school.

Christy Kohlhagen

Christy will be returning to coach the 14's age level, where she coached last year in her first year with the club. Christy is currently the Varsity Assistant Coach for Sheboygan Falls High School, and helped guide the team to a regional championship and sectionals appearance this fall.

Before coming to Block Party, Christy was a two-year varsity player at Sheboygan Falls High School. Christy also played varsity soccer in high school.

Bob Lewis

John Lynch

John has coached 12, 13, and 14 year old girls for many years, in private grade schools, for volleyball clubs, and clinics for youth. He and his wife started and operated Lynch Court House in Germantown and managed Center Court Sports Complex in Waukesha. John plays regularly in the Wisconsin Sr. Olympics and the World Sr. Games in Utah and was inducted into the Wisconsin Sr. Olympic Hall of Fame for Volleyball. In 2006, John and his wife received the USAV Outstanding Program Director Award for contributing to volleyball as players, coaches, and club and facility directors.

This year, John completed his third season as assistant coach to his daughter, Jane, with the freshman boys' team at Catholic Memorial High School.

Amanda O'Brien

This will be Amanda’s fourth year with Block Party. She has previously coached with her twin sister, Ashley, on the Girls’ 15’s and 16’s teams.

Amanda played collegiately at Mount Mary College. She also was a three-year varsity player at St. Francis High School.

Ashley O'Brien

This will be Ashley’s fourth year with Block Party. Along with her twin sister Amanda, Ashley has previously coached on the Girls’ 15’s and 16’s teams.

Ashley played collegiately as a setter at Mount Mary College. She also was a three-year varsity player at St. Francis High School.!
